Filter Roast
Filter coffee is made by pouring hot water over coffee grounds and letting gravity, instead of pressure, draw the brewed coffee down into a cup over a period of a few minutes. Filter roasts are created for a range of brewing devices, including Drippers, Pour-overs and French Press.
What is a Filter Roast?
To achieve a filter roast, we typically roast the green beans at lower temperatures and for a shorter period of time than we would for espresso. One reason a filter roast has a shorter roasting time is to create a more delicate coffee that allows the subtle flavours to shine through during brewing.
