The Kerinci Regency in Sumatra is known for its high-quality coffee production due to fertile volcanic soils and high altitudes.
Exceptionally rare, this remarkable coffee comprises 40% Sigarar Utang, 50% S-795 and 10% Andungsari varieties. The beans are soaked in water before undergoing an 8-day fermentation followed by 22-25 days drying and finally a 2 week resting period.
Produced by the 380-member Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative. Founded in 2017, their dedication to quality has resulted in winning national competitions, including a 6th place in the 2021 Cup of Excellence.
To enhance farm productivity, cooperative members have integrated shade trees and an agroforestry system benefiting the environment and coffee farmers' incomes.
